In this physics-grounded synthetic demo scene, a satellite says the corn is "stressed." It can't tell you if that's hunger, thirst, or disease, and each one needs a different fix.
That's the limit of a broadband stress alert: nitrogen, water, and fungal stress can all read as the same amber. A symptom with no cause.
We built a demo, SpectraRx, that reads the full color fingerprint of the light coming off each spot in the field, hundreds of narrow bands instead of a few. It takes one amber blob and splits it into typed zones: nitrogen in one, water in another, early tar spot in the red patch, each with a prescription a real sprayer can run.
Where the signal is too muddy to be sure, the engine marks pixels abstained. Zones with enough abstained pixels route to scouting; in the default scene, 25 of 144 zones are scout zones.
The cost is real: a missed tar-spot window narrows the time to act, while a wrong diagnosis spends a pass on the wrong problem.
For growers and advisers, the next step is to separate nitrogen, water, and disease before committing a pass.
