A grid-connection request can look acceptable with every line in service and still need an upgrade study.
In our synthetic GridLens example, a 750 MW request stays below thermal limits in the base case. With one monitored line out, loading on a surviving branch reaches 112.4% of its limit. GridLens recommends an upgrade study and identifies the branch and outage behind it.
Executed site control and a posted deposit make this application ready for study under the demo's rules. They do not remove the network constraint. The planner needs both sets of evidence: whether the application is ready to be studied, and what the network screen found.
This is an illustrative thermal screen on synthetic data. It models requested power as an injection balanced elsewhere on the network, including for load requests. It excludes voltage, stability and islanding checks. Detailed engineering study still comes before a connection decision.
When reviewing a recommendation, ask which evidence supports it and which questions remain for the next study.
